We endeavor to glorify God by being Bible-driven...
... in our GOAL: maturing members of Christ's body who love others and maintain unity.
... in our MEANS: praying always and utilizing Scripture with shepherding leadership.
... in our MESSAGE: by proclaiming Christ to both believers and unbelievers.
In the Bible, God has showed us how we can please Him in every area of life, including our church life. From expository preaching to our intentional discipleship to our reverent worship services and engaging children’s programs, we are endeavoring by God’s grace to accomplish what He directs in Scripture.

Hayden Deverill is a West Point graduate and was born again in 2010 as a cadet after confronting the reality of his sin and the Gospel during his sophomore year spring break. He attended Grace Baptist from 2010 until his graduation in 2012. He left West Point to serve as a US Army Engineering Officer at Fort Hood, TX, and Fort Leonard Wood, MO, where he continued to faithfully serve in local churches as a Bible study leader, adult and children’s Sunday School teacher, Children’s Church teacher, and youth group leader with his wife, Faith. He completed a Masters of Systems Engineering (University of Virginia, 2022).
Hayden returned to teach Math at West Point in 2023, and rejoined Grace Baptist with Faith and their four children: Issac, Titus, Eloise, and Asa. They serve in the Young Adult Ministry (YAM), opening their house to cadets in the same ministry Hayden and Faith attended a decade ago. As a deacon, his ministry focus is one-on-one discipleship, church systems and processes, young adult ministry, and finding the best fit for church member’s God-given talents in Grace Baptist’s ministries.

Brother Mel has been attending Grace Baptist his whole life. He turned to Christ in a Jack Wyrtzen evangelistics meeting while as a young man, and God brought Mel back to Himself after a season of sinful living in his 20s. Mel and his wife Marguerite have 4 adult children. He has recently retired from a tree cutting business and is talking about moving to Florida.
Mel serves our church by leading singing and offering member care. He has also helped by leading our youth group and filling the pulpit as needed. He has a heart for evangelism and is rarely found sitting still.
Brandon first began attending Grace Baptist as a child in 2009. He came to know Christ as his Savior during a family Bible study when his older brother, Christopher, asked him if he knew he would go to heaven and how he knew that. Despite growing up attending church and in a Christian home, Brandon was unable to answer the question and truly accepted Christ after his brother clearly explained salvation. He has B.S. in Sports Management (St. Thomas Aquinas College) and has worked for the Hudson Valley Renegades and as the billing manager for Vision Sports Club in Pearl River, NY. He is currently the Accounts Manager for USIS.
Since beginning to serve at Grace Baptist in college, Brandon has been the Sunday School Supervisor, led worship, ushered, and taught adult Sunday School. He married Jennifer in 2020 and they have two children, Paisley and Levi. In 2023, Brandon stepped in the role of Deacon, where he faithfully serves, focusing on pastoral care and growing fellowship and unity in the church.
